MY GBS & CIDP STORY

I was working full time as a CNA at a Nursing Home. I had lost over 60lbs. I was only taking vitamins and no other medications or health issues. I got sick with a bacterial infection. I returned to work and got a flu shot at work. I had never taken but one other flu shot with my primary doctor.

On June 07, 2020, I was a work and I didn't feel right. I asked the nurse to take my blood pressure. It was very high. I do not remember the rest of my shift. My husband picked me up and took me to my primary doctor. She sent me to the hospital in the city because she thought I was having a stroke to heart attack.

They ran test on me at the hospital. They found a stroke and did not know why all of a sudden, I was going in and out of paralysis. I refused the migraine cocktail they tried to give me. They released me and sent me home.

My primary doctor continued to add medications to treat all my new symptoms I was having. I went from a walking to a cane, to a walker and then a scooter. I went from working a full-time job to verily being able to walk across the room.

March 17, 2021, I was admitted into down step ICU, then hospital and then a medical rehab getting IVIG treatments, physical, occupational and speech therapy,

I am now permit disabled and no neurologist in Oklahoma will see me. I have a different primary doctor, a neurosurgeon and I see several specialists. It took until 2024 to get it put in my medical records that I have a history of GBS and now have CIDP. 

The very first neurologist and his team already knew I had CIDP in March of 2021 but refuse to treat me.
